Misting Fan----- A Wonderful Tool for Cooling and Humidifying
Misting fans are not strange to us any more and become more and more popular. Its working principle is simple. To put it simply, a special water spray equipment is fitted to an electric fan, then the electric fan turns into a misting fan. There is a water tank (reservoir) at the bottom of the misting fan. In the water tank, a small water pump is fitted for pumping water. Four heavy-duty spray nozzles are designed in the front of the fan cover. When the misting fan works,the small pump pumps water up from the reservoir and the water will be atomized and spray out through the nozzles. Meanwhile, as the fan is blowing all the time and the atomized water (mist) can be taken far away from the fan and affect the ambient temperature and humidity in a certain area. In other words, the mist fan works on the principles of thermal dynamics and evaporative cooling.
If you put a misting fan in a room, where the doors and windows keep closed, when it is working, you may notice that the ambient air will be noticeably cooler and more humid. That is because the water evaporation takes a certain amount of heat energy along with it. On the other hand, as the doors and windows are closed, the water vapor cannot go out of the room, then the ambient air become more and more humid. The misting fan circulates the cooler air in the room, acting like a rudimentary air conditioner. So, the misting fan takes the idea of evaporative cooling and makes it much more efficient and productive.
